2023 is a Midterm
TComprehensive Review of
Implementation of the UN Decade
for Action on Water and Sanitation
(2018-2028) that took place from
22nd to 24th March 2023 at UN
Headquarters in New York. This
is the second UN Conference
dedicated to Water, following
the Conference in Mar del Plata,
Argentina in 1977.

Around 10,000 participants had
gathered physically and virtually for
the Conference at UN Headquarters
for discussions on various aspects of
Water over a period of 3 days. It was
a unique opportunity to undertake
commitments and accelerate action
towards achieving SDG 6 and other
internationally agreed water-related
goals and targets, including those
set out in the 2030 Development
Agenda. The conference had an
